Quantic Dream’s rumoured work on a Star Wars game has turned out to be true. The Game Awards announcement revealed that Quantic Dream, the studio behind the likes of Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Fahrenheit, is working on a game called Star Wars Eclipse, which is currently in the early stages of development. Now, a teaser trailer has just been released for the upcoming game.
It will take place in the High Republic era on the Outer Rim and will apparently be “an intricately branching action-adventure game that can be experienced in many ways,” with multiple playable characters—a Quantic Dream trademark. Expect quick-time events, unforeseen twists, and a certain degree of tonal variance.
The trailer includes familiar elements from the Star Wars universe, such as C3PO-looking droids, powerful speeder bikes, and Jedi at the prime of their ruling. It also features a host of different species that we’ve seen before in previous, and upcoming, films and series. According to the official website, these “new” species and planets will be featured in its Outer Rim setting.
We’re so excited to see how this expands the Star Wars story, and maybe how it will tie into the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series that stars our very own Sung Kang, plus the Book Of Boba Fett, which is being released on Disney+ from December 29.
