According to Ewan McGregor, star of the Disney+ series, Obi-Wan Kenobi has wrapped.
McGregor will reprise his famous role as Kenobi, the coveted Jedi Master, after over 15 years since Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. The series will actually take place ten years since Episode 3, and will fill the gaps between the aforementioned film and the original trilogy.
“We finished shooting our series, and it was really, really good fun – I really enjoyed working with [director] Deborah Chow,” he told the press (via Variety).
“I think it will not disappoint,” McGregor went on to tease. “I think it’s gonna be good. I had a really good time making it, and worked with some really wonderful people, lovely people.
“The new technology we employed doing it is cool, and it was a different experience than making the original three films that I did.”
Acting alongside McGregor we’ll find Hayden Christensen who played Anakin Skywalker in Episodes 1 to 3, and our very own Sung Kang from the Fast and Furious films.
McGregor continued to tease us about what’s to come on the series, revealing to Jimmy Kimmel the following:
“I got to play a very special scene on May 4, with someone very special in my life and that’s all I can tell you about it. But it was great fun.”
He noted that he had never shared the screen with the person in question before, and that they were “not necessarily” related to him.
“I’m having a really great time,” he added. “The costume’s slightly different than you might expect, but to go back into the role, shall we say, is great. It’s all still there, it feels good. We have great scripts and great people to work with.”
