This Legend Has Built 24 Cars From The Fast And The Furious Movies And Is Planning More
Written by Alex Harrington

I think most of us have a favourite car from The Fast and Furious franchise. I actually talked about this in another article and loads of you got in touch with me to tell me your favourites which I loved, but today I found someone who took these dreams and made them a reality.

This gentlemen from Edmonton, Alberta has collected and built 24, yes, 24(!) cars from The Fast and Furious films, from Brian’s Eclipse to Han’s Veilside Fortune RX-7. That’s right, Jorge Acosta is one hell of a fan, and now he’s one hell of a collection owner, and it’s only growing bigger.

Through Craig Lieberman, one of the advisors for the Fast and Furious films who we’ve featured quite few times on Sung’s Garage, Acosta was able to soak up information on how to build these replicas and start his collection.

“My dream was the green Eclipse, so I built one three years ago, and that’s it,” Acosta told the YouTube channel Roads Untraveled. “Everything started from there.”

We’ve previously talked to another replica builder, Shahar Algazy. In fact, Sung went to hang out with him for a bit on his Hagerty Driving Gratitude journey. He has a number of incredible replicas, but Acosta has taken it to the next level.

“I didn’t want to have the largest Fast and Furious car collection in the in the world on purpose, right?” Acosta explained to Roads Untraveled. “But then I started getting excited.

“I don’t know if I’m going to stop or not,” Acosta admitted. “I don’t know. I don’t know.”

To pay for these cars, Acosta started importing vehicles from Japan and flipping them for a profit in the US. How much money did it all cost? Well, we don’t know for sure, but some of these cars have modifications that are of a higher value than the car itself. The Veilside RX-7 is the perfect example… we’ll give you the recipe for this iconic hero car in a future article, I’m sure.

He has another 7 or 8 cars lined up to join his ever-growing collection, and we’re so excited to hear more. Hopefully, we can get in touch with Jorge and we can have a chat about this in even more detail.
