Vin Diesel And John Cena Talk Fast And Furious 9 In Recent Interview
Written by Alex Harrington

Fans have been waiting a long time for the tenth instalment of The Fast and Furious franchise. In fact, it’s almost been a year since we were first treated to the initial trailer. And what a year it’s been. Now, it’s been pushed back to May 28th,

Now, the Fast team is starting to pick up the promotion again as we inch closer to the new release date, and lead actors Vin Diesel and John Cena have talked to Total Film Magazine about the film, as well as director Justin Lin. He was keen to discuss how adding John Cena to the lineup added another layer of challenges to the story.

“I know that the theme of family has become a drinking game for some of the fans,” said Justin. “But when I woke up that morning and had the idea of exploring Dom and Jakob… that was always the reason to come back.”

Cena explained to the magazine that Jakob will be the Fast family’s “greatest hurdle” so far, and knows exactly what it’s like to have siblings get in the way. “There is an old saying that blood is thicker than water,” he said. “For me, having four brothers, I can say I have had the absolute brawls of my life with kin. It’s almost like it’s accepted.”

It’s been a long time for fans who are now eager to get back into the cinema, and Diesel is adamant that providing a great cinema experience was at the top of his priorities list. I’m so committed to the theatrical experience,” Diesel said. “Obviously, I’ve dedicated my life to [the cinema]. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that we’re going to be there on May 28 with a movie that everybody is going to want to see together.”

So, come on everyone. Who’s excited?
